    We are accepting applications for a part-time Fitness Specialist. This is a day shift position and must be available to work weekends.

    Positions Details

    Responsible for personal training, group exercise instruction and for meeting the exercise and fitness wants and needs of the residents.  

     

    Principle Responsibilities:

    • Assesses and evaluates senior residents’ needs for exercise and fitness.  Works with residents individually and in groups.  Plans individual fitness programs for participating residents;
    • Assists team member with orientation to fitness center, procedures and policies;
    • Supervises or presents exercise programs that includes exercises for Assisted Living and post rehab programming;
    • Produces promotional materials, newsletters, flyers, etc. 
    • Inspects, cleans and maintains equipment;
    • Maintains records of residents’ progress;
    • Provides in-service trainings as required;
    • Works in collaboration with other professionals to provide appropriate assistance to residents;
    • Performs administrative functions for the department;
    • Promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Parkshore in all areas of responsibility;
    • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary in an organization having overlapping roles and responsibilities.

    Required Skills/Knowledge/Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with staff and external constituents.
    • Understand and adhere to HIPPA Regulations.
    • Four-year college or university education with a B.S. Degree in exercise-related discipline;
    • National Fitness Certification required (ACSM preferred);
    • Current CPR Certification
    • Minimum two years of successful experience in a position with similar responsibilities;
    • Must be able to demonstrate proper uses of the exercise equipment;
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
    • Experience in prescribing exercise to special populations preferred;
    • Must be physically able to assist residents in safe exercise, and the safe operation of the equipment;
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
