    We are hiring for a full-time Activities Coordinator (Recreational Therapist). Work week is Sunday - Thursday.  This person is responsible for assisting Lifestyle & Resident Services Director in providing activities, programs and opportunities for residents that promote a level of health, well being, engagement and growth.     Positions Details

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Assists in planning, scheduling and conducting lifestyle programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities for the residents.
    • Creates & implements the calendar of events communicating with other departments.
    • Plan programs for holidays and special events.
    • Maintains a database of past and current events, including resident participation & satisfaction.
    • Creates publicity to coincide with each event in a timely manner.
    • Oversees setup and breakdown of audio/visual equipment and other general equipment for events throughout the community.
    • Provides ongoing communication with residents and, as necessary, family members.
    • Interacts with residents, guests and staff in an atmosphere of hospitality.
    • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary in an organization having overlapping roles and responsibilities.

    Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational & management skills.
    • Must have an eye for detail and have basic editing/proofreading skills.
    • Experience coordinating & scheduling events.
    • Familiarity with MLA format a plus.
    • Sensitivity to the unique sensibilities of the senior demographic.
    • Understands HIPAA regulations & maintains confidentiality.

    Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Recreational Therapy or a Certified Recreational Therapy Specialist (CTRS) certification is preferred.
    • One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
