    We are currently hiring for a temporary, full-time Maintenance Technician.  The job will begin in mid-June and end late August or early September.  

    Positions Details

    This position is responsible for providing maintenance services for the building.  The maintenance team performs all general maintenance repairs such as:  filter replacements, electric motor repairs and replacement, electrical device and wiring repairs, faucet, shower and toilet repair & replacement, basic carpentry repairs, plumbing and pump repairs, light bulb and fixture replacement, small appliance and janitorial equipment repair, and others as required.

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Perform the day-to-day functions as assigned.
    • Receives instructions, blueprints and work orders for maintenance or facility upgrade projects. Develops working procedures and schedules for the job, material requirements, and other equipment as required.
    • Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include, plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.
    • Cleans and maintains tools and equipment daily.
    • Reports equipment/items to supervisor that need repair.
    • Makes notes of any problems found, or resident comments.
    • Responds to building emergencies.
    • Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns.
    • Makes notes and reports daily when any supplies need ordering.
    • Performs daily rounds and check of various systems as assigned, including related record keeping.
    • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary in an organization having overlapping roles and responsibilities.

     

    Education and/or Equivalent Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent plus additional specialized training or work experience; boiler license preferred
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Able to read, write, and speak in English
    • Must be able to follow oral and written directions and instruction
    • Must work independently and cooperatively as a member of a team with the desire and ability to solve problems, have initiative, and be willing to work flexible hours
    • Must relate successfully to others with excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to maintain a high degree of cleanliness
    • Must be able to work in different physical positions to complete tasks, while providing a variety of physically demanding, maintenance-related tasks inside and outside of the building
    • Must have good manual dexterity and the ability to work with tools and equipment
