    Positions Details

    The Prep Cook/Dining Room Server will have the opportunity to work in multiple areas within our beautifully-renovated dining room and kitchen! Here are some of the essential functions in this role:


    Prep Cook


    • Ensures standards of food quality, sanitation and preparation safety are maintained
    • Checks in and signs for deliveries
    • Stocks and stores food and supplies properly
    • Meets with Dining Services Director to review menus and clarify prep needed for week
    • Lists and performs all needed food preparation for daily/weekly menus
    • Keeps work area, equipment and tools clean and sanitary
    • Makes suggestions for improvements in service, quality, efficiency and safety
    • Reports any accidents, incidents and items that need repair


    Dining Room Server


    • Set tables in dining room for meal service
    • Keep the food and beverage area organized and fully-stocked
    • Get to know the menu for each meal to assure all items are available and to answer the residents' questions
    • Stay on top of menu changes, specials, and special requests
    • Keep the dining room neat, clean and tidy at all times
    • Be willing and able to help residents with any meal service assistance they might request or require
    • Greet guests and inform them of specials and changes; answer their questions and make suggestions
    • Process resident orders

    Position requirements


    • Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age and have related experience. 
    • Must be able to read, write and speak English and able to understand written & spoken instructions/directions. 
    • Must obtain a Food Handlers Permit. 
    • Must work cooperatively with management and staff. 
    • Must be patient, pleasant and understanding in relating to residents. 
    • Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position – performing food preparation, cooking tasks and stocking.
