Skyline is an upscale retirement community located in Seattle's First Hill neighborhood.   As Seattle’s only True Life Care retirement community, we offer our residents independent living, assisted living, rehabilitation services, memory care, and skilled nursing. 


We are hiring 2 Cooks for our Dining Services team.  Both positions are full-time and include health benefits, retirement benefits, and vacation.



  • Sundays, 7am-3pm plus  Monday - Thursday, 1:30p-10p
  • Monday - Friday, 7am - 3pm

Positions Details


Responsible for food preparation that meets or exceeds hospitality and service standards of this community.


Principle Responsibilities

  • Prepare food items using standardized recipes.
  • Determine food and supplies needed and coordinate meal production with serving hours.
  • Prepare all special dietary needs as directed by the Resident Menus.
  • Practice all safety and loss prevention procedures.
  • Responsible for following all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling.
  • Assist with proper documentation of temperature logs, taste panel forms, and cleaning schedules.
  • Promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary in an organization having overlapping roles and responsibilities.


Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Able to prepare food in a senior housing environment.
  • Desire to work with the elderly in a senior living environment
  • Able to prepare therapeutic/modified diets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with staff and external constituents.


Education and/or Equivalent Experience

  • Minimum of two years experience as cook preparing full line of menu items.
  • Able to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to prepare therapeutic/modified diets.
