We are recruiting for a Dining Room Supervisor.  If you have dining experience, enjoy working with seniors, and have a big heart, we would be interested in talking with you. 

  • Hours are somewhat flexible
  • M-F, full time position 

Positions Details

Summary:

Supervises Assisted Living Dining Room activities. Manages services while meeting or exceeding service standards. Responsible for all front-of-the-house and partial back-of-the-house activities for Dining Services. Ensures food served is of the highest quality while supervising meal service. Directs and coordinates food service activities of the Assisted Living dining room by performing and overseeing the following duties.

 

 

Principle Responsibilities

  • Set and manage weekly cleaning schedules for dining rooms and satellite kitchens.
  • Supervise and implement the proper food handling and cleaning techniques to ensure optimal infection control.
  • Plans and coordinates standards and procedures of food storage, preparation, and service; equipment and department sanitation; and employee safety.
  • Collaborates with Registered Dietitian Ensures that menus and department policies conform to nutritional standards, government regulations, and internal procedures.
  • Inspects and regulates food and food preparation and storage areas.
  • Tastes, smells, and observes food to ensure conformance with recipes and appearance standards.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Manage the Assisted Living menus including but not limited to extensive knowledge of Crandall Corporate Dietitians menu program, appropriate meal planning and implementation of Crandall Policies and Procedures.
  • Monitor the orientation and training of new food servers.
  • Be able to provide timely service support to dining room personnel as needed.
  • Set an example by practicing all safety and loss prevention procedures and assure that Satellite Kitchen Attendants do the same.
  • Effectively communicate with Nursing staff, CNA, kitchen staff, Director of Nursing, and Health Services Director regarding all direct Dining Services issues.
  • Hold regular in-service and training sessions with staff.
  • Perform all other reasonable tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary in an organization having overlapping roles and responsibilities.
