Overview

We are seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to join our team. The hours are from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.

Positions Details

Here are some of the dietary aide responsibilities:

  • Takes food orders and order changes over the telephone.
  • Records orders and verifies to be accurate and appropriate for resident.
  • Assists in food preparation.
  • Places food items on trays according to tray card or menu, in an appropriate and appealing manner.
  • Assures that tray carts are delivered to appropriate locations on time and that tray carts are returned to kitchen after meals.
  • Prepares foods as requested, such as cereals, salads, purees, coffee, juices, desserts, etc.
  • Labels, dates, covers, and stores unused and leftover food.
  • Puts away carts and trays. Cleans and sanitizes work area and equipment used.
  • Checks equipment to be in working order; reports needed repairs to supervisor immediately.
  • Observes all health and safety guidelines and regulations and all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Possesses the ability to read and understand Diet Report spreadsheet to ensure residents on special diets receive accurate meals.

Position requirements: 

  • Must be at least 16 years of age with a current Food Handler Card (Health Dept. Card). 
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English. 
  • Must be able to relate well with seniors, and have some flexibility in work hours. 
  • Must be able to work independently – after training with good attention to detail. 
  • Must be patient, understanding, and pleasant, and have good communication and customer relations skills. 
  • Must have good manual dexterity with a high degree of personal hygiene.
