We are seeking a part-time lead server to join our team. This is a weekend position, from 7:00am to 3:30pm and from 4:30pm to 8:00pm.

Positions Details

Here are some of the server responsibilities:

  • Assigns dining room servers work stations.
  • Monitor dining room server pre and post meal side work to assure completion.
  • Review uniforms of dining room servers for cleanliness and completeness. Advise servers of any modifications needed to uniform.
  • Conduct walk thru of dining room pre and post meal to ensure work assignments have been completed and appearance of dining room is up to standards.
  • Reviews work schedule and arranges for coverage of absences when needed.
  • Communicates with kitchen in regards to menu items, food shortages/outs and preparation methods.
  • Leads shift meeting to review nightly menu selections, reservations and service reminders.
  • Work with and lead dining room hostess in seating of residents and guests to tables.
  • Monitors service of dining room to ensure proper timing and service procedures are followed.
  • Accounts for residents billing into the point of sale for guest meals, room service, caregiver pick up meals and alcohol sales.
  • Produces sales reports thru the point of sale and assists with beer/wine inventory.
  • Maintains maintenance of the point of sale system with adding menu items, making pricing adjustments, determining food printer locations and adding/deleting server names
  • Monitor dining room service and, as needed, assist dining room servers with service at their tables.
  • Communicates with residents and guests to determine satisfaction of meal and service received. Take appropriate steps to remedy situations needing improved upon.
  • Assists with interviewing and training of new dining room servers.
  • Monitors records of employee food handler cards, server alcohol permits and TB tests.
  • Monitors catered events and assists with set up and service of events.
  • Relay pertinent information to Dining Room Coordinator regarding food, service and employee work performance. Complete nightly shift report.
  • Conducts daily shift walk thru of front of house service and storage areas.
  • Assists with reviewing of time in ADP for proper clock in/out punches and proper job classifications

Position requirements: 

  • Must be a minimum of sixteen years of age, with parental and school permission, and must be able to read, write, and speak English. 
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations. 
  • Must be willing to work cooperatively as a member of the kitchen/dining staff team, and be able to respond to verbal instructions and directions. 
  • Must enjoy working with senior adults and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Must be patient, pleasant, and understanding in relating to the residents and staff.
  • Require to obtain food handlers permit and if eighteen or older require to obtain alcohol server permit.
